wellyou events: a review from Arcane Lost

As 2020 came to an end, hitting us with a third coronavirus wave, it is safe to say that we are all hoping for a better year this year. The last few months have found us, in all honesty, a bit gloomy, hopeful for better news and more lenient restrictions; unfortunately, to no avail.

Just like the rest of the world, we at wellyou realized that December 2020 brought a merry good reason to not be merry. The most wonderful time of the year came with the realization that we couldn’t meet our friends or family (or THEIR friends and family).

So all of us virtually put our heads together, trying to figure out a way to save Christmas and the winter season (from the Grinch we call COVID…). And that’s when it hit us. A series of virtual events to help people boost their physical, mental and social well-being given the current coronavirus pandemic.

To kick off the series, we planned a global, virtual Christmas party. What initially started out as an idea for a virtual Christmas dinner, turned into a lively gathering of people sharing heart-warming stories and keeping it cozy with blankets and Christmas goodies. It was a way to help people from all around the world not feel lonely during the Christmas season and even make a new friend or two.

A memory photo from the Global Christmas Dinner event with all of the 12 lovely participants.

Although small, the event warmed our hearts and lifted our spirits, even if only for a few hours. The smiles and positive feedback from the attendees convinced us we were going into the right direction. And so, we carefully planned events all through January to February 2021 to reach even more people.

Fast forward to the middle of January 2021, a special guest attended our event called Kickstarting 2021: Reach Your Goals and Live Intentionally, hosted by our head of psychology Belinda, and our co-founder Amelia. Interested in the psychology behind setting and achieving goals, Siddharth Chaudhary, from Arcane Lost, joined us all the way from Delhi, India.

In his words, “The session started at 1:00 pm EST, which translated to 11:30 pm in my region. Attending the session heavy-eyed, I thought I would pass out in the middle of the session. But to my surprise, seeing the energy and passion that Amelia and Belinda poured into the session, I got wide awake.”

We later asked Siddharth to give us his honest opinion of the event. Taking a sneak-peak at the review he shared with his readers, Siddharth wrote “During these difficult times, being confined in our homes can cause some real distress. The only thing that can make this distress go away is the sense of being somewhere. And for me, this session brought that feeling back. Being with a group of people seeking wellness can be the most positive experience, and Belinda’s session was exactly that.”

Siddharth filled our hearts by saying that he would recommend others to attend this or future events! But if you’re one who is still unsure and don’t know whether these events are for you, or whether they are worth the time (no judgement!), you can learn more about what Siddharth had to say by reading his full review on Arcane Lost’s blog page.

And while you are there, if you enjoy reading about well-being, but also technology, filmology and music, Arcane Lost can spike your interest in a wide array of topics. Whether it’s finding a good movie to watch in 2021, or learning about which new app can become your WhatsApp alternative, there is plenty to read, and enjoy:)

Lastly, before you go, if you have attended one of our events and would like to share your opinion with us, connect with us on Instagram,  LinkedIn, and Facebook. We would love to hear your thoughts!
